The current BNA Board voted today (5 Dec 25) to accept the request for a special meeting presented as a petition of the directions to hold a special meeting of the membership to conduct elections. IAW the bylaws, the meeting has been scheduled at the Iroquois Library at 6 pm on 12/15/25 as requested in the petition. To the Beechmont Community, The board has heard the Beechmont community clearly: the neighborhood wants a vote. Because of this, our priority has been to ensure that the election scheduled for December 15th is fully supported, legitimate, and organized in a way that aligns with the expectations of the community. Over the past several days, there has been confusion regarding the bylaws—specifically, which version is accurate and why the bylaws distributed to the community differ from those filed with the state. We also recognize there were questions about meeting schedules and procedures, as our board has traditionally met on the third Monday of each month, not weekly. Rather than responding hastily or creating additional tension, we chose to send an initial plan focused on supporting the December 15th election. At this time, we do not have full clarity on the exact process or timing required to revise or verify bylaws, but we believe that can and should be addressed by the next board to ensure transparency moving forward. To be absolutely clear: We have no negative intentions. If that were the case, we could simply dissolve the organization and donate the remaining funds. Instead, we came together after the meeting and focused on what Beechmont asked for—a clear election process. Our goal is to ensure that nothing is dissolved, no harm is done, and the community retains a functioning and supported neighborhood association. Despite a few strong opinions expressed, we believe the majority of the community supports a constructive path forward. We are committed to helping provide that path. Additionally, many current board members had no plans to run again, and our intention is not to influence future leadership. We sincerely hope the incoming board continues working to clarify the bylaws and moves past any “us versus them” mindset so the focus remains on the best interests of Beechmont. We wish all candidates the best in the December 15th election, and we remain available to support a smooth and legitimate process. Respectfully, The Beechmont Community Association board! |
